Here are some questions that people may ask about my product:
What problem is being solved?
The problem is that as of now, there is no way to "hybridize" a non hybrid vehicle.
Who exactly has this problem, and why should anybody try solve it?
Every single person who does not drive a hybrid vehicle has this problem. Anybody who drives a conventional
internal combustion powered, non hybrid vehicle is missing out on the benifits of better fuel mileage and reduced brake
wear.
What solutions currently exist, and why don't these solutions solve the problem?
As of now, there is no "bolt on" or "aftermarket" kit to convert a conventional braking system to
an electrical generator.
What is different about your product in contrast to existing solutions?
The only current way to utilize hybrid technology is to go to your Honda or Toyota dealer and purchace
a new or used hybrid vechile. My device, however, will be used on any vehilce with a conventional braking system (Cevy pick
ups, Dodge Caravan, your car, your mother's car, hot rods, muscle cars etc......)
What methods of testing and documenting your prototype can you do given the resources
that you have?
This is the tricky part. It would not be overly difficult to make a prototype if given the proper
tools and equipment, but I don't have most of the equipment needed to do this. If I was to receive support from an existing
brake company, then a protype could be constructed. As for testing, the prototype would be installed on the chosen vehicle.
The electrical output would be connected to the vechicle's electrical system or to a hydrogen electrolyser. The vechcle would
then be test driven through different traffic situations and fuel economy data would be collected. If fuel economy improves,
and / or brake wear is reduced, the device works. If fuel economy or brake wear is not improved, then the device is a failure.
How can you obtain data regarding the performance of your product and prove that it is effective?
Fuel economy and brake wear data will prove or disprove the device's effectiveness. It is very easy
to obtain fuel mileage data, and brake wear is easily checked by inspecting the brake shoes / pads.
